Back pain accounts for 40% of absenteeism in Scotland, making it a huge problem for working people. People sitting behind a desk for the majority of the day, and tradesmen are the most susceptible to back problems.
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends that people with lower back pain should be prescribed a course of acupuncture, exercise classes or some form of manual therapy or massage if their symptoms persist for six weeks or more. The Times

You will come into a softly lit, warm room with soothing, relaxing music or sound
playing in the background.
The treatment starts with very gentle movements applied to your joints. At this point
you will experience the hidden tensions in your body and will learn how to allow
them to go.
All you need to do is pay attention to what happens and try to do as little as you
can. Just follow the directions. The treatment is painless and non-invasive.
At some point it may be beneficial to use applied Dynamic Release massage. This will
be discussed in advance.
Normally the intensity of your symptoms are evaluated before and after the treatment.
The aim is for you to feel noticeably better by the end of the first session - hopefully
about 50% or more
This is what you need to do
- Commit yourself to practice very simple exercises you may be given in between sessions
- Be willing to change some of your habits the best you can
- Attend agreed sessions - especially the initial ones
- Ask questions and try to understand what is being said to you (This is particularly
important so that you have a good understanding of your condition and how/ the treatment
relates to it. Asking as many questions as you have will provide you with tools that
you need to help prevent the recurrence of the condition.
- Let your GP and other health professionals involved in your health care know that
you are having sessions of Dynamic Release ™ (You will be asked to give me permission
to communicate with your doctor regarding the condition you came to see me about.
If you agree, I will send a letter to your GP to let him/her know that you are receiving
treatment from me and another when you are discharged / discharge yourself).
- Above all, Enjoy - the actual treatment is very pleasant and relaxing.
